Why did it take me so long to wrap no complaint November up? After all, it’s the middle of December now, almost Christmas… Well I could have let it slide, but I felt really bad about that. So I did the natural thing which is procrastination which made me feel more bad about it so I finally decided to face it.
Okay, so the main reason why it took me so long is because I think I failed. I complained quite a lot during November, maybe actually more than in other months. I talked badly about people, even though I tried to hold myself back and I also had a lot of really bad thoughts about life and people and things concerning them… But here are a couple of things I took from no complaint November that are interesting and that might inspire you to try this out yourself too: Continue reading “No complaint November wrap up”
It seems like this month is really determined to make this challenge challenging.
Has this ever happen to you: You set out to do something and it’s just like the universe is conspiring against you, making it incredibly hard to get closer to your goal, like it’s wanting to tell you “You thought you’d have to put no effort into this? Well here ya go, sucker!” BAM punches you and then it throws a huge bucket of shit at you while you’re on the ground and then dances on your head while singing a little song?
Well, here we go. I’m being tested by the universe!
(Ok ok, probably I’m not important enough to be tested by the universe, but I certainly feel like a VIP right now…) Continue reading “No complaint November 2”
A new life needs a new routine. Things that worked in Japan don’t work here in New Zealand and so the past weeks were about finding out what works and what doesn’t, making embarrassing or expensive mistakes along the way. Continue reading “Optimizing life in New Zealand”
Today I was talking to some of my new friends, one of them had an accident recently and his arm was in a cast because of it which doesn’t stop him from lifting heavy things and me from fussing over him and carrying stuff for him instead.
So when he lifted up a couple of cups I was like “oh, you shouldn’t do that with your casket!” And he was like “my what?” while I got a huge lol from everyone in nearby and I was like “Well, the thing on your arm.” And he was like “That’s not a casket darling, I am not dead yet.” Continue reading “Casket girl saves the world”
You might ask, why the sudden change in posts? Why all the pretty pictures? The reason is that I am in a limbo right now and find myself void of any true creativity that might express itself in well chosen words.
Looking for a job turns out to take more time than anticipated. Finding a nice and cheap flat as well. And so I am sitting here, worrying about things I can not control, watching stripe shirted parkour people gracefully jump over handrails outside the library… Continue reading “What to do when you are in a limbo”
Even though I am calling myself a minimalist – or minimalist wannabe – I don’t travel with only carry-on luggage, I have a proper suitcase that is filled to the brim with my stuff – like a regular person does when they travel.
Why don’t I have only carry-on baggage or at least a “proper backpack”? Well, for one thing I need more clothes than would fit in only a carry-on and for the second thing: backpacks are for losers!
Continue reading “All hail the suitcase! Backpacks are for losers!”
… Ladies and Gentlemen, I am in possession of a new camera *drumroll*. My old one was about 6 years old – as you may have noticed from the bad quality of pictures I posted here – and a few weeks ago it fell and the battery compartment broke. So, it was time for a new camera. Continue reading “My new camera!”
